“We didn’t Fight” – Charles Bissue Speaks On Brawl with Tarkwa Nsuem MP
Former Western Regional Secretary for the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Charles Bissue has denied fighting with Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuem, Honurable George Mireku Duker, and inflicting multiple injuries on him while sustaining injury himself.
Speaking with Nana Aba Anamoah, the former presidential staffer noted that they were only engaged in an argument and not a fist fight.
He added that the injuries they sustained came about after they both tripped and fell on a chair in the course of the argument.
“It wasn’t a fight. It was an argument and I tripped, that’s all. My face hit a chair. I would have cried if he had beaten me up”, he said.
He added that he is at peace with Mr. Mireku now.
BACKGROUND
Honourable George Mireku and Charles Bissue got into a brawl during a workshop organized for parliamentary and regional executive candidates of the New Patriotic Party at Kingston Hotel in Takoradi in 2020.
Sources had it that the two had been in serious contention after Mr. Bissue showed support for an independent candidate over Mr. Mireku.
Footages that emerged revealed Mr. Mireku’s hand bandaged and Mr. Bissue’s eye bruised.
Mr. Bissue later issued a statement after a publication that he had bitten the finger of his contender, saying he wasn’t the aggressor.
