We Cherish Your Love For Us; Lordina Mahama to Asantehemaa
Mrs Lordina Mahama, the wife of former President John Dramani Mahama, has expressed her immense appreciation and gratitude for the unconditional love showered on her husband and herself by the Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
This was during a courtesy visit to the Manhyia Palace on November 14, 2024, alongside some National Democratic Congress (NDC) officials.
The visit opened the former First Lady’s campaign trail in the Ashanti Region to engage and interact with market women on policies specially carved out for them in the bid to garner support for her husband who is seeking a comeback in the upcoming general election.
“We cherish your love towards us,” she told the Queen who warmly welcomed the entourage.
She continued, “We came to pay homage. I couldn’t come here without coming to pay a visit to my mother and the owner of the land. Her son, John Dramani Mahama, is contesting again for Presidency so I had to come to my mother and inform her about the great task ahead of us so she could pray and bless us.”
For her part, the Queen readily gave her blessings for her to embark on her campaign activities.
Mrs Mahama was accompanied by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, Nana Akwasi Andrews, former Deputy Defence Minister, Ken Agyei, Ashanti Regional women’s Organiser, Gloria Huze, the Deputy National Communication Director of the NDC, Obuobia Darko Opoku, former Education Minister, Betty Mould Iddrisu and female parliamentary candidates of NDC in the Ashanti Region.
