Vormawor Denies Saying “NDC Members on Vetting Committee Take Money For Approval”

Social activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor has strongly denied claims that he wrote a social media post alleging that members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the Vetting Committee take money for the approval of ministerial nominees.
The activist was summoned before the Appointments Committee on January 29, 2025, over a series posts he allegedly made about the Committee in the conduct of their mandate.
The post cited by Ghana Today published on January 24, read, “NDC members on the Vetting Committee take money from Mahama’s ministerial nominees before approving them. The Deputy Speaker must submit himself to ORAL.”
Speaking on his behalf, Lawyer Nana Ato Dadzie admitted to one of the two posts but denied the second one.
“My client says he didn’t author the second post. That second post is distasteful. It’s absolutely not his…The second post is fake.”
Upon further probe, the counsel for the defendant said the post was published by an “NPP Bureau platform”.
He furthered that they were “going do a background check to see who is behind it”.
