Vice President Is Recuperating Quite Well- Ablakwa

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has allayed fears concerning the health condition of Vice President prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang after she was taken ill.

Addressing the Ghanaian Community in Lagos over the weekend, the Minister said she was recuperating quite well.

“Some fears about the state of our mother, the first female vice president of the Republic of Ghana. I also want to assure you that she is doing very, very well. Your prayers worked, your prayers from all of us, Ghanaians at home and abroad, have really worked…I have heard from her, so I know what I am talking about, and she’s doing well,” he is quoted as saying by Graphic.

He further urged the public to disregard the naysayers’ narratives about the veep’s condition, adding that she would soon resume duty.

“Please ignore all of that very vicious and un-Ghanaian evil propaganda that some people are speculating.”

“Our mother is doing very, very well, and very soon she is going to return to her duties, serving Ghana, making all of you proud and particularly inspiring our young girls, our daughters, to know that there is nothing our women cannot achieve—that women are as good as men and that what men can do, women can also do and do it better.”

Meanwhile, a Jubilee House source has confirmed that HE Opoku Agyemang is on a three-week leave.

The Vice President was reported to have fallen ill while discharging official duties on Friday, March 28, 2025.

She was initially taken to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) before being flown abroad for further medical care.
