Veep Is Catching a Bit of Rest- Mahama
President John Dramani Mahama has for the first time spoken about the health status of his vice, Prof Jane Opoku-Agyemang since she was taken ill at the end of last month.
Speaking at the launch of the Free Sanitary Pad Initiative on April 24, he said his deputy was taking some rest.
According to him, she will be back to official duties soon.
“I wish to extend the greetings of Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang to all of you. I spoke to her yesterday and I told her we were going to miss her at this event because this is a programme that is very dear to her,” the President said according to Graphic.
“She said I should say hello to all of you and to say she is recuperating and catching a bit of rest. She is very well and soon she will join us to continue to prosecute the reset agenda,” he added.
The Vice President was reported to have fallen ill while discharging official duties on Friday, March 28, 2025.
She was initially taken to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) before being flown abroad for further medical care.
The Jubilee House later confirmed that HE Opoku Agyemang is on leave.
