Vaccinate Before Travelling to Senegal- Ghanaians Advised

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an advisory, recommending that Ghanaians travelling to Senegal get vaccinated against certain communicable diseases.
The advisory is in line with a directive by the Senegalese Authorities for travellers’ health and safety.
Among the diseases travellers have been directed to vaccinate against are yellow fever, DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus), measles, and hepatitis A and B.
It, however, noted that the presentation of vaccination certificates for these diseases is not mandatory for entry into the Senegalese territory.
“Ghanaian travellers are, nonetheless, encouraged to consult healthcare providers for their routine vaccinations prior to travel, in order to safeguard their health while abroad.
“The Ministry remains committed to providing timely information to ensure the safety, welfare, and well-being of Ghanaian citizens travelling outside the country.”
