V/R: One Dead In Accident On Matse–Vane Road

One person has died following a collision between two vehicles on the Matse–Vane road in the Volta Region.

The accident on Thursday morning left five other people injured.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the collision involved an Isuzu pickup with registration number GS 3468-17 and a saloon car with registration number GE 1056-16.

The GNFS crew, led by STNO II Segbedzi Michael, rescued four victims from the saloon car, including the driver, who was unresponsive and two (2) from the Isuzu pickup before handing them over to the Ambulance Service for treatment.

“The Ho Municipal Fire Commander, DO II Seth Tay, and other senior officers were on-site to support the rescue team and ensure effective scene management.”

It confirmed the death of the saloon car driver whose remains were handed over to the police for autopsy and further investigation.

It is yet to be unravelled the cause of the crash.
