U/ER: Fire Sweeps through Mango Plantation at Piisi

Fire has swept through a commercial mango plantation at Piisi in the Upper West Region.

The incident happened on Monday, January 19, 2026.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the plantation is part of Kalgaston Farms’ properties.

It confirmed that the blaze caused extensive damage to the plantation; however, timely intervention helped salvage a significant portion of the farm.

Investigation identified uncontrolled bush burning as the cause of the fire.
