Two Apprehended Over Murder of Woman In Kumasi
The Police have nabbed two suspects for their alleged connection to the murder of a businesswoman at Apaaso near Sokoban Ampabame in the Ashanti Region.
The lifeless body of Princess Afia Ahenkan, 35, was found in her garage at her residence necessitating a “targeted intelligence-led operation” for suspect Allister John, a househelp to the deceased, as well as his accomplice, James Anokye.
They were arrested in Accra on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
The two were said to have bolted with the deceased’s vehicle with registration No. GS 307-21 after allegedly committing the crime and subsequently sold it.
“The car has, however, been found at Adenta with its documents and subsequently impounded at the Oyibi Police Station for further investigation while efforts are underway to arrest the buyer to assist the investigation,” a statement from the police said.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy, the police noted.
Relatives of the deceased have called for justice following the arrests.
“Not up to two weeks when my mom brought the security guard here. I can’t say much but what I want is justice. I want the police to investigate the company and bring out some good news. Because you can’t just come here barely two weeks to commit such a crime. I will leave it to the police to do everything,” CNR cites a relative as saying.
