Trans-Sahara Industries to Establish Two-Wheeler Factory in Ashanti Region

Trans-Sahara Industries, a Ghanaian manufacturing company will be establishing a two-wheelers manufacturing plant in the Ashanti Region.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Mr Gerald Acheampong, made this known to the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II during a visit to the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

The company, he revealed, will be manufacturing bicycles, electric bikes and motorcycles with the aim of driving down the unemployment rate in the region, he said.

His visit to the Palace was to formally inform the King about the venture and seek his blessings.

“We want to set up a factory in the Ashanti Region. The region was intentionally selected since I am an Asante. Though we are based in the Greater Accra Region, we will be bringing it here to augment employment in the region. We are yet to select a site for it but we needed to come and inform His Majesty before anything commenced.”

Additionally, he donated 10 branded bicycles to the Manhyia Palace to aid courtiers in their movements and errands for the Palace.

Mr Acheampong also used the occasion to pay homage to His Majesty.
