Toyota Cup Win Gives Us Confidence for Confederation Cup – Nana Apinkra

The Chairman of Asante Kotoko Interim Management Committee, Nana Akwasi Awua Apinkra, has affirmed that the team will do better in their upcoming campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.

According to him, the club is encouraged by the resilience it exhibited in overcoming the numerous challenges it faced in the Toyota Cup.

Presenting the trophy to the life Patron of the Club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace on July 30, 2025, during the sixth Awukudae festival celebration, he recounted the numerous challenges they faced.

“Going into the game, Kaizer Chiefs was the favourites. They had undertaken their preseason exercise in the US and we had just mobilised our players. The officiation was skewed in favour of the home team, but then we overcame and emerged winners.”

He furthered, “This is an assurance and comfort that we will do better in the Confederation Cup. We are not promising to win, but we will surely go far.”

The management, technical team and playing body presented two trophies- the Presidential Cup and the Toyota Cup- and their medals to the King.
