This Isn’t the Results We Wanted- Kamala Harris
United States of America (USA) Vice President and failed presidential aspirant, Kamala Harris has publicly conceded defeat to her opponent, Donald Trump, admitting the results defied her expectations.
Addressing her countrymen from the White House on November 6, the 60-year-old expressed her delight and satisfaction with the fight she waged against the former President 107 days before the election.
“My heart is full today, full of gratitude for the trust you have placed in me, for love for country and full of resolve. The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, not what we voted for but hear me when I say the light of America’s promise will always burn bright. As long as never give up and as long as we keep fighting.”
Accepting the outcome of the election, the Republican urged her followers to do the same. She disclosed she had already reached out to Trump to congratulate him on his victory and assured him of a smooth transition.
“We must accept the results of this election. Earlier today, I spoke to President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victory. I also told him that we will help him and his team with the transition and that we will engage in a peaceful transfer of power.”
