Thief Jailed 15 Years For iPhone 16 Pro Max Theft

A thief has been handed a 15-year jail term by the Ofaakor Circuit Court after pleading guilty to the charges of robbery and causing harm.
Kolie Samuel, aged 25, was sentenced to 14 and 15 years imprisonment respectively, which run concurrently.
Robbery
Per police report, the convict robbed a female victim and made away with her handbag containing an iPhone 16 Pro Max and a purse containing an unspecified amount of money on July 10, 2025, at dawn at Millennium City in the Gomoa East of the Central Region.
Through intelligence-led investigations and assistance of the victim, Kolie Samuel was tracked and arrested at his hideout at Ngleshie Amanfro, a suburb of Accra, on 10 July 2025.
A search conducted on him led to the retrieval of the victim’s iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Other items found in his possession included one Dell laptop, 2 ltel mobile phones, one Nokia phone, one Alcatel mobile phone, one vodafone WiFi, two pairs of Airpods, one gold necklace, three wrist watches, one ladies’ purse, one wallet containing a health insurance card bearing the name Kwapong Sahnan and ten memory cards all believed to be proceeds of other robbery activities he may have embarked upon.
After thorough investigations, he was put before the Ofaakor Circuit Court on 15th July, 2025, during which his conviction was secured.
