There Is No Conflict Between Asantehene And Dormaahene- KuYA Clarifies
The Kumasi Youth Association (KuYA) has debunked assertions that there is a rivalry between the His Royal Majesty Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Dormaahene Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II.
The group states that those impressions being created by media houses and others are inconsistent and groundless.
KuYA explained that “there have been distortions in the history of the Asante kingdom and this has diverse repercussions. As a wise and courageous King, he sought to entreat his chiefs during the first Asanteman Council meeting for the year 2022 that no attempt to turn or sidestep the history of Asanteman and for that matter, Ghana, shall ever succeed.
“HRM further told his Paramount Chiefs who are in regions outside the Ashanti region to know that so far as there is a documented proof of their enstoolment and how they swore to the Golden Stool, it has become entrenched to be altered by the mere creation of land boundaries. They remain Asante Chiefs, and no one can change it due to the creation of new regions. Political boundaries have no effect on traditional supremacy.”
But the submissions of the King have been taken out of context.
“How can a servant in a kingdom be equal to the master, and even to be in conflict with the King?” the group quizzed.
They reminded the public that His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene is known across the globe to be a peace-loving King, so there is no way he would have a conflict with his subjects or any other group.
KuYA also cautioned political parties to desist from politicising submissions made by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
