The Level Of Abofrem Water Shortage Is Alarming; Assemblyman Laments

The Assembly Member for Abofrem Electoral Area at Kyekyewere in Afigya Kwabre North in the Ashanti Region Hon. Daniel Jackson Amoh has made known to the public the shortage of water in his area.

According to the assembly member Hon. Amoh, the Abofrem community has a problem with toilet issues and due to this, some citizens defecate in a river called Aboabo.

He also said, the citizens have turned the river into a refuse dump.

However, Mr. Amoh said a Non-Governmental Organisation has decided to help solve the problem of water shortage in the area.

Adding up to what Hon. Amoh said the residents of Abofrem confirmed that indeed they have been defecating in the Aboabo River because they have no option due to the no toilet syndrome in the community.

According to the citizens, the shortage of water is worst during the harmattan season.

This menace has been in existence for years and the level at which we struggle to get water is outrageous, they added.
