The 42 Nominated Ministers So Far

President John Dramani Mahama has named 42 officials to work under his administration as the sixth head of state and government.

The President began announcing his nominations on January 15, 2025, a week after his inauguration.

Of the list, 16 are Regional Ministers, three are Ministers of State and the rest are sector Ministers. He has promised to run a 60-Minister government.

All his sector Ministers were drawn from parliament except three: Dr. Edward Omane Boamah for Defence, Adjei Kenneth Gilbert for Works, Housing, and Water Resources and George Opare-Addo for Youth and Empowerment.

Meanwhile, only seven of the 42 are women.

Of the 16 regions, the Volta and Northern regions had the highest number of Ministers with four each. The Greater Accra Region, Eastern, Central, Western, Ashanti and Bono East Regions each have three Ministers.

Western North, Western, Ahafo, Bono, Savannah, Northeast, Upper East and Upper West had two each.

9.           Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak (MP) – Interior
10.        Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP) – Foreign Affairs
11.        Adjei Kenneth Gilbert – Works, Housing, and Water Resources
12.        Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum (MP) – Minister of State for Special Initiatives
13.        Felix Kwakye Ofosu (MP) – Government Communications
