Taxi Driver Evades Death After Train Rammed Into Car
A driver escaped unhurt after an Accra-bound train rammed into his taxi at Alajo, a suburb in Accra in the Greater Accra region.
The incident reported by Graphic in a video posted on social media captured the driver’s side of the car squashed.
It was the only part of the car that got damaged in the accident.
The driver of the taxi attempted to quickly cross the path of the train from Tema at Alajo, however, got stuck on the track causing the accident, the news outlet said citing an unidentified eyewitness.
It is reported that no one got injured in the accident but there is a reported “minor” damage to the train.
The video showed a handful of astonished audience surrounding the taxi driver at the scene as he assessed his car.
In reaction, some tweeps called for the immediate arrest of the driver for his “indiscipline”.
“I hope the taxi driver is in Police Custody,” one commented with another saying, “Such drivers must pay for the cost of indiscipline.”
“That’s what they do at that side. The bar will even be dropped and you’ll see drivers trying to go by quickly before the train gets there.”
“The taxi driver should be arrested.”
