YEA CEO Announces 2,000 Jobs From Coconut Husks

The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, says the government will be creating and employing 2,000 people.

These jobs will be created from coconut husks.

He recognises that the benefits of these have been overlooked, while they tend to litter and pose environmental threats.

In a Facebook post, he captioned pictures of coconut husks, “You see this here, they are called Coconut husks!. The leftovers after enjoying your coconut milk or juice that litter the city.

“This afternoon, I shall be creating 2,000 permanent jobs from it while saving the environment.”

Some benefits of the coconut husk include materials for making ropes, mats, brushes, and erosion control products; nutrient-rich soil amendments; bedding material for animals; burned as a biomass fuel source; and crafting decorative items, such as planters, figurines, and other handicrafts.
