Minority Gifts Black Queens ¢100k

The Minority in parliament has generously presented an amount of ¢100,000 to the Black Queens after winning bronze at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.

This was done when the women’s senior national team visited the Parliament of Ghana to present their medals.

Led by Hon. Patricia Appiagyei, the Minority presented a cash donation of GH¢100,000 to the team and technical staff.

“This gesture is part of a broader call for increased investment in women’s sports and equal recognition of female athletes’ contributions to national development,” the Ghana Football Association said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Minority Leader Hon. Afenyo Markins commended the Black Queens for their resilience, determination, and passion, which earned Ghana a well-deserved bronze medal.

“The Black Queens have not only represented Ghana with dignity but have reignited belief in women’s football. This donation is our way of saying thank you for lifting the flag of Ghana high,” Hon. Afenyo said.
