DVLA Denies Kuntunse PVTS Facility Closure is Due to Rent Non-payment

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has denied allegations that the Kuntunse Private Vehicle Testing Station facility has been shut down due to non-payment of rent and utilities by the Authority.

It classified the reports as misleading in a second statement issued on December 1, 2025.

It explained that the facility is a Private Facility established by a private partner.

“The facility was neither owned nor operated by DVLA, for which its associated rent was to be paid by the Authority.”

According to DVLA, the private partner on whose account the Centre operated had decided to shut down and cease operation.

“The general public is therefore informed to disregard such misleading publications. Thank you.”

In an earlier statement, it directed clients to seek the services of alternative centres in Accra, as it announced the closure of the one at Kuntunse.
