UG Vice Chancellor’s Residence Gutted By Fire

A portion of the residence of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana (UG) has been ravaged by fire.

This was confirmed by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in a statement on August 12, 2025.

It said the Legon Fire station responded to the fire which had engulfed the Vice Chancellor’s premises of the University of Ghana on Sunday, 10th August 2025.

Led by ADOII Bridget Soglo, firefighters swiftly contained the blaze and fully extinguished it shortly.

It reported zero casualties, with several valuable items, including laptops, a fridge, and furniture, being salvaged.

“The cause of the fire remains under investigation.”
