Forestry Commission Investigates Alleged Harassment of Workers at Sokoban Wood Village

The Forestry Commission says it has initiated an investigation into the alleged heckling of workers at the Sokoban Wood Village.

In a statement, it said it was looking into the issues raised.

It has also invited members of the Sokoban Wood Village, including the executives of the Domestic Lumber Traders Association (DOLTA) and the Domestic Lumber Millers Association of Ghana (DOLMAG), among others, for a meeting.

The meeting is scheduled for Friday, July 25, 2025.

The Commission noted that it has held earlier engagements with the members and executives of the Sokoban Wood Village, where some concerns raised were addressed to the satisfaction of the groups.

“The Forestry Commission thereafter set up a committee to implement some decisions reached at the meeting.”

It also assured the public that effective consultation and dialogue in the spirit of mutual respect and trust will be used to address the lingering issues raised.
