15 Eastern Regional NPP Lawmakers Openly Endorse Bawumia
Fifteen out of the 23 New Patriotic Party (NPP) members of parliament from the Eastern Region have affirmed their support for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the flagbearship race.
They openly endorsed the former Vice President during a press conference on September 24, 2025.
“We are 23 MPs here in the Eastern Region. Out of the 23, 15 MPs have endorsed Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.”
They cited the popularity of Dr Bawumia for their stance, adding that he is the surest bet for the party’s success in 2028.
“We endorse him because we believe he has been marketed already to Ghanaians all these years. He was a running mate thrice and a Vice President twice.”
They said none of his contenders wielded such popularity and influence.
The MPs include Sammi Awuku, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Frank Annor Dompreh, Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, Charles Asuako Owiredu, Kingsley Agyemang, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, and Ida Adjoa Asiedu
The rest are Kwame Appiah Kodua, Duke Ofori-Atta, Michael Okyere Baafi, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, Kwame Addo Frempong, Laurette Korkor Asante, and Alexander Agyare.
