Napo Says He Has No Interest In Running For 2028 Presidency

Unsuccessful Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, says he holds no interest in leading the party in the 2028 presidential election.
In a brief interaction with the media which has gone viral, the former Education Minister blanky stated that he was not going to run in the next three years.
“I’m not running in 2028.”
Currently, he is focused on unifying the party which is now in the cracks.
“My interest now is to get a united party for a flag bearer to be eventually crowned.”
Dr Opoku Prempeh served in the former government as Minister for Education and later as the Minister for Energy.
At the time, he was the Member for Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti Region.
In the lead-up to the 2024 elections, the Presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia chose him as his running mate.
