New UG Governing Council Inaugurated

The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has inaugurated the reconstituted Governing Council of the University of Ghana.

The Council is chaired by Mrs Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew and encompasses Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, Naa Dr Alhassan Andani, Dr Kwesi Amakye-Boateng, Ms Precious Kyei Bonsu, Dr Abdul Karim Hatsu, Ms Doris Kisiwa Ansah and Prof. Nana Akua Anyidoho.

Also on the Council are Mr Michael Owusu Ansah, Mr John Dadzie Mensah, Prof. Folassade Tolulope, Rev. Fr. Stephen Owusu Sekyere, Mr George Agyekum Donkor, Ms Tina Sackeyfio and Major Daniel Ablorh-Quarcoo (Rtd).

The rest are Mrs Yvette Adounvo Atekpe, Dr Inusah Abdul-Nasiru, Mr Maradona Adjei Yeboah, Mr. Bright Amansiah and Mr. Benjamin Nkumsah.

At a brief ceremony, Hon. Iddrisu tasked Council members to work assiduously to improve the University’s standing as a leading Global Higher Education institution.

New Council Chair, Mrs. Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew in her acceptance speech touted UG as a bedrock of academic excellence in the country. She pledged to work with UG Management in the spirit of commitment and visionary leadership.
