Ashanti Region: Man Shot To Death In Robbery Attack
A young man identified as Abdul Ibrahim Wahab has been shot to death by armed robbers at Ohwim Akuso in the Ashanti region.
The robbers reportedly stormed the residence of the young man on September 22, 2022.
It is reported that the young man was with his girlfriend when the incident happened.
He was shot after the robbers had taken the password to his mobile money wallet and that of her girlfriend.
Reports say he was taken to County hospital where he died.
Following this, residents of Ohwim Akuso have called for a security fortification in the community.
According to them, this is not the first time armed robbers have killed a resident.
“We call on the government, our MP and the Assemblyman to come to our aid because we are distressed in this neighbourhood. This is Ohwim but it is called Akuso. Armed robbers attack, stab people and take their belongings”, a resident told UTV.
Another said, “the security situation here is very bad. Last April, a colleague was stabbed to death here. We call on the government to beef up the security here”.
“Someone came to live here. He was attacked that same day with arms in broad daylight. The government must come to our aid”, another said.
