Arsenal Engages Thomas Partey in Contract Extension Talks
Arsenal has initiated a conversation with Ghana international, Thomas Partey, for a contract extension.
The Phenomenal and key midfielder’s contract at the Emirates Stadium will expire at the end of this season.
Having established himself as a lynchpin, the English Premier League side is bent on keeping the 31-year-old within its fold.
Reports indicate that talks for his stay have commenced over a new contract.
“Arsenal are now IN TALKS with THOMAS PARTEY over NEW CONTRACT. Deal on,” Spanish journalist Fabrizio Romano announced on Thursday.
Prior to this, it was reported that the father of one and deputy captain of the Black Stars held interest in joining La Liga side Barcelona for free in the summer.
The Ghanaian is said to be on the radar of Atlético Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, and clubs in Saudi Arabia.
Partey this season has made 46 appearances in all competitions for Mikel Arteta’s side.
The player has carved a niche for himself in the EPL, dominating opponents with his tough tackling, authority on the ball and passing range.
