Kusasi Chief Killing: Interior Minister Vows To Fish Out Perpetrators

The Minister for Interior, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Asawase in the Ashanti Region, Hon Muntaka Mubarak, has vowed to fish out the perpetrators behind the assassination of the Ashanti Region Kusasi Chief, Naa Abdul-Malik Azenbe.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Minister mourned the death of the leader who resided in his constituency and assured his family of justice.
He is prepared to go to all lengths to arrest the perpetrators.
“I want to assure the family and the people of Ghana that our security agencies are fully committed to ensuring that the perpetrators of this crime are swiftly apprehended and made to face the full rigours of the law.”
The Minister has since urged residents of the Asawase constituency and its environs to remain calm and cooperate with the security agencies by providing any information that may assist in the ongoing investigations.
He also reiterated his commitment to protecting citizens and upholding the rule of law.
The traditional leader who is also the Kadi Divisional Area Chief in Binduri was shot dead by unknown assailants at F-Line at Asawase in Kumasi around 9 pm while seated at his usual spot alongside other residents, eyewitnesses say.
He sustained multiple gun wounds and succumbed after being transferred from the Manhyia District Hospital to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
Crime scene experts are currently at the scene, mobilising evidence to arrest the suspects.
