G/AR: Fire Service Investigates Fire Outbreak at Police Church
An investigation has commenced into the cause of a fire that broke out at the Police Church on Tuesday, destroying valuables and parts of the facility.
A statement by the Ghana National Fire Service on July 10, 2025, reported that its intervention prevented the inferno from spreading to three halls and nine rooms.
It however destroyed choir robes, air conditioners, and office equipment, the firefighters salvaged three halls and nine rooms.
Firefighters from the Jubilee House and Abelemkpe responded, brought the fire under control within 21 minutes and extinguished it at 1636 hours.
“Upon arrival, they found a section of the church engulfed in thick smoke and flames. Additional support was requested, and a fire truck from Abelemkpe Fire Station was dispatched to aid in firefighting efforts.”
It said no casualties were recorded, adding that the cause and origin of the fire are yet to be determined by fire investigators.
