The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced an extensive cleanup exercise in the lead-up to the commencement of the burial rites of the late Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

The metro-wide exercise will take place this Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 6 am.

It has since encouraged all Volunteer Groups, Ashanti Youth Association, Kumasi Youth Association, and all other Youth Groups to patronise the exercise to ensure a spotless and presentable city of Kumasi to honour the late Queen.

Meanwhile, it has directed Assembly Members in Ash-Town, Dichemso, Amakom, Asafo, Adum, Nhyiaeso, Dr. Mensah, Mmrom, K.O Odumasi, Alabar, Manhyia Extension, Bantama, Cultural Centre, and WAEC Drain (Akwatia Line) to ensure compliance.

“The KMA kindly urges all residents to also come out in their numbers to participate in this clean-up exercise to honour our late Queen,” the statement added.

The burial rites will begin on September 15 and end on September 18.
