A/R: Police on Manhunt for Thugs Who Disrupted Council of State Election

The Ghana Police Service says a manhunt has been launched for thugs who stormed the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) in Kumasi where the election of regional representative for the Council of State was ongoing.

The said unidentified bodily built men went to the venue and reportedly interrupted the sorting process of ballot papers.

In the process, reports say they assaulted electoral commission officials, journalists and others.

The police issued a statement on Tuesday afternoon saying its outfit was reviewing all available footage to identify and arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

“The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for a group of thugs who stormed the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council and disrupted today’s Council of State Regional Elections in Kumasi,” it added.
