Gov’t Contracts ADB Ghana to Equip KNUST Teaching Hospital

The government of Ghana has contracted ADB Ghana Limited in the quest to operationalize the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Teaching Hospital within the shortest possible time.
The specialist medical supply company sources and distributes medical equipment, apparatus, instruments and consumables to hospitals, clinics, laboratories, schools, colleges and other healthcare professionals.
The Management of the Company, led by its Director, Benjamin Diaz, formally informed Otumfuo of its contract with the government during a visit to the Manhyia Palace on July 9, 2025.
This followed a call by the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to have the completion and operationalization expedited.
Mr Diaz sought the permission and blessing of His Majesty to commence work.
“Healthcare is our priority and so we are here for the blessing of Otumfuo to carry our task.”
Otumfuo embraced the news with joy as he emphasised the significance of the facility and affirmed his unflinching support.
“I will offer all necessary assistance. Liaise with my office for a suitable schedule to meet the Vice Chancellor of KNUST to further on with the needed paperwork and arrangements.”
Among the delegation were Flora Diaz, Co-Director and Alex Mensah Sennah, the General Manager.
It will be recalled that Otumfuo made a strong call for the completion of the facility during the 58th Special Congregation of the KNUST on June 28, 2025.
The Asantehene indicated that the facility, once completed will augment the congested Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and aid in the training of Medical and Allied Health students of KNUST.
