A/R: Driver Dies After ‘Wrongful Overtaking’ Accident at Adansi Akrokerri

A Hyundai minivan driver has passed away after his wrongful overtaking caused an accident at Adansi Akrokerri in the Ashanti Region.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), in a statement confirming the incident which happened on December 2, 2025, said the Hyundai driver heading towards Obuasi was involved in a head-on collision with a Kumasi-bound Hyundai truck with registration number AS  3948-24.

It said two occupants of the truck were transported to a medical facility for treatment, while the minivan driver died at the scene.

The body was handed over to the Jacobu District police, it said.

The GNFS, in its statement, urged motorists to adhere to road traffic regulations while affirming its commitment to safeguarding lives.
