Adu Safowaa Ends Speech-a-thon Attempt

Controversial Ghanaian socialite and media personality Regina Adu Safowaa has officially ended her attempt to break the record for the longest speech by an individual.

She set out on the journey on Friday, February 9, 2024 and officially ended it on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 4: 05 am becoming the fourth Ghanaian to embark on a world record-breaking attempt.

She did 13 hours of speaking in Twi, English and French over a period of seven days with calculated breaks at the La Palm Royal Beach in Accra.

She received support from celebrities including Nana Ama McBrown, Kwaku Manu, Ghana Most Beautiful winner Akua, Giffty Anti, Stacy Akua Amoakwaa and Piesie Esther.


After her adventure, she issued her appreciation to her well-wishers and God in a social media post.

“LONGEST SPEECH MARATHON BY AN INDIVIDUAL: @guinnessworldrecords IT IS DONE 130:00:00:23 hours done as of today 15th February 2024: 4:05 am. Thank you, God.

“I appreciate everybody’s love and support throughout this journey. God bless you all ”

Adu Safowaa is attempting to break the record set by motivational speaker Ananta Ram KC from Nepal in 2018. He set a speech-a-thon record of 90 hours and 2 minutes.

According to the Guinness World Record (GWR), Ram KC maintained a silence for almost 7 days before starting the attempt as a part of his preparation for the longest speech attempt

Her feat is yet to be certified by GWR.
