In separate statements, the Minister said the decision followed advice of the National Security Council and by Executive Instrument.
He further encouraged the Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them, and to use non-violent means to ensure peace.
โMeanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the Nalerigu Township and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons and any persons found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.โ
The 16-hour curfew was imposed on Sunday following calculated attacks on students from Nalerigu Senior High School and Bawku Senior High School.
