Ghanaian To Attempt Breaking Longest Sing-a-thon

In the midst of making and breaking records, in and around the world under the supervision of Guinness World Records, a Ghanaian has jumped to the occasion with her singing prowess.

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum will later this month attempt to break Sunil Waghmare’s record for the longest Singing Marathon by an individual.

She plans to go 117 hours or more beginning on December 24 to 27, and she plans to promote Ghanaian crafts with her adventure.

“We are promoting Ghanaian songs. From gospel, hi-life, hip life, name it,” she said in a video left on her Instagram page.

She will have to sing a song not exceeding two minutes during the singing marathon and the songs must not be repeated.

The longest singing marathon by an individual lasted 105 hours and was achieved by Sunil Waghmare in Nagpur, India.

The record attempt started at 11:06 am on March 3, with a variety of popular Indian songs being sung.

The attempt ended on the evening of March 7, after which Mr Waghmare joined in with a sing song with his supporters.
