Djiku To Sign For Russian Club Spartak Moscow

French-born Ghanaian footballer Alexander Djiku is set to join Spartak Moscow from Fenerbahçe.

It comes after Fenerbahçe and Spartak Moscow reached an agreement for the transfer of the centre-back for €2.5M, according to reports.

The player is currently in Moscow to sign a contract, the reason he will miss the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed.

“Alexander Djiku is in Moscow to sign a contract and will therefore arrive in Accra on Friday,” it said in a press statement.

The 31-year-old moved to Fenerbahçe as a free agent in July 2023.

He debuted for the Black Stars in October 2020 and has gone ahead to make 31 appearances with two goals.
