Govt to Recruit 12,000 into Military

President John Dramani Mahama has approved a move to enlist 12,000 Ghanaian youth into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) in the next four years.
In a Facebook post, the Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, urged the youth to prepare for a career of “service and pride”.
“The Ghana Armed Forces is set to enlist and recruit altogether 12,000 qualified and fit young Ghanaians over the next 4 years.”
He charged interested people to be health-conscious.
“As a former Ministry of Defence staff at the 37 Military Hospital, I’m advising prospective applicants to prioritize your health. Make sure you’re medically fit before applying, as the training is intense!”
“You’ll be expected to “abandon all forms of normal life.” In the training process, some have died.”
The details for the commencement of the enlistment are not readily available, however, the Minister said application details will be communicated in due course.
