A/R: Police Intercept Cash-filled Bus

A driver of a Ford Transit Bus is assisting in police investigations after he was busted conveying stacks of cedi notes and coins at Juapong in Kumasi.

The bus was intercepted on June 3, 2025, at a Snap Checkpoint, according to a statement by the Ghana Police Service.

The notes and coins totalling about Ghc1021,700 were stored in 68 fertilizer bags.

“The driver of the vehicle, suspect Edward Ansah upon interrogation told the Police he was engaged by a certain man in Kumasi to convey the currency notes and coins from Ho/Volta Region to him in Kumasi/Ashanti Region.”
