Police Seek Alleged Persons Behind Viral Berekum-Drobo Road Robbery
The police say they are taking steps to identify persons behind the publication of a viral armed robbery attack along Berekum-Drobo Road.
In a statement, it said the Cyber Crime Unit is taking steps to identify and invite them to assist with ongoing investigations.
“Anyone found culpable would be made to face the law. The Command would like to caution the public against publication of false news.”
The police suspect foul play in the publication after its efforts to trace the incident proved futile.
“Preliminary checks conducted at Police Stations within the Bono Region and across all police stations nationwide, as well as verification with the Ghana Armed Forces, indicate that no such incident has been reported.”
Meanwhile, it urged anyone with credible information regarding the alleged incident to report to the nearest police station to assist with ongoing inquiries.
