Don’t Bottle In Challenges, Its Dangerous- Funny Face

Ghanaian comic actor Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, known as Funny Face has warned of the implications of containing challenges and struggles.

The mental health survivor says such acts can lead to mental health complications which could be lethal.

In an interview with Metro TV, the actor said the genesis of his mental health problems was suppressing his emotions and refusing to share with those around him.
“Don’t bottle things in you when you are going through Challenges, talk to somebody. That’s what happened to me. I didn’t talk to people.”

He also advised against drug abuse especially for persons with mental health challenges, as he recalled how it exacerbated his condition.

“I will advise people to take seriously their mental health. It’s very important. They should say No to drugs. When I went through the struggle, I abused some drugs it didn’t help me at all. If you are going through such challenges and you take in marijuana, it exacerbates it. I will advise people to stay away from drugs.”

The Cow and Chicken crooner used the occasion to express his immense gratitude to Ghanaians for embracing him and his shortcomings.

“I give God the glory and say shout-out to Ghanaians for still believing in me. I kept relapsing but their support has been unflinching. When people go through this mental health struggle, it’s the love people show them that helps them fight it. Many people perished in it because they didn’t get the live but I thank Ghanaians for the support and love for me.”
