Akufo-Addo Denies Attempt to Postpone NPP’s Primaries

The Office of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has rubbished reports that he attempted to postpone the Presidential Primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to July.
It was reported in a section of the media that Nana Addo sought to overturn the decision to conduct its Presidential Primaries early.
In a statement, his Office said the reports are “completely false”.
It stated that HE Akufo-Addo has been out of the jurisdiction for some time now and has not made any such requests to the party either by a petition or any other means.
“He does not have any such intentions,” it emphasized.
“Those behind these publications have an agenda of their own, which has nothing to do with improving the fortunes of the New Patriotic Party(NPP).”
The party will hold its Presidential Primary on January 31, 2026.
