Nsoatreman FC Charged Over Misconduct

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Nsoatreman FC with misconduct after violence characterized their match against Asante Kotoko SC on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

The violence claimed one life and resulted in the injury of several others.

In an update, the FA said Nsoatreman FC have been charged with breaches of Sections 16 of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019, and Article 42(6) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019.

“It is alleged that the club failed to control its supporters, who threw missiles onto the pitch, invaded the field of play, assaulted an away team player, attacked members of the Ghana Football Association’s authorized media partner, and destroyed property belonging to both the away team and the media partner,” it said in a notice.

It added, “It is alleged that the club obstructed a GFA-authorized media partner from filming the match.”

The Nsoatre-based club has until Wednesday, February 5, 2025, to respond to the charges.

The FA says it is reviewing official reports and video evidence regarding incidents surrounding the game is still ongoing.

It plans to slap the club with further charges in due course.
