I’ll Hold You to Same Scale of Accountability as Substantive Ministers; Mahama to Dep Ministers

President John Dramani Mahama has emphasised that he will hold deputy ministers to the same standards of accountability as substantive ministers.
The Head of State while reasoning with the 13 at their swearing-in ceremony at the Jubilee House on March 12, 2025, said that much is expected of them.
“While your role as deputy Ministers requires professional subordination in supporting your substantive Ministers, I shall hold you to the same standards of accountability, diligence, hard work and sacrifice for Ghana’s collective success.”
He therefore cautioned them against arrogance, opulence and neglect of duty.
Additionally, he directed them to declare their assets.
“You must also promptly fulfil your asset declaration requirements and submit same to the Auditor General. You must also ensure that any travel outside Ghana passes the essential travel test and receives approval from the Office of the Chief of Staff.”
Meanwhile, President Mahama tasked the newly sworn-in Deputy Ministers to prioritise sacrifice to secure a better future for the future generations at their various sectors.
“The sacrifices I ask you to make are to secure a prosperous future for posterity and you must never sacrifice a prosperous future for the pleasures of these fleeting moments.”
