Ampem Darkoa Advance To CAF Champions League Semi-Finals

Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC have secured a semi-final spot in the CAF Women’s Champions League after their victory over Huracanes FC of Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.

The Ghanaians secured a 3-1 victory over Huracanes thanks to a brace and goal by Tracey Twum and N-Yanimaya Gnabekan respectively.

Twum opened the score sheet in the 9th minute and added one more after recess before Substitute Gnabekan’s 88th minute goal sealed the victory.

A consolation was pulled back for opponents at injury time.

Ampem Darkoa finished on top in Group B and thus qualified for the last four together with the defending champions AS Far.

Coach Joe Adarkwa is impressed by the Ladies’ performance. He told CAF media much effort will be put into their net game.

“We achieved our first goal, which was to be in the semi-finals. Whatever happens, we will finish the competition with our heads held high. We are aware that the team we are going to meet is a strong team but, we will work hard to win the game.”

Ampem Darkoa will face Sporting Casablanca in the semi-finals on Wednesday evening.
