Roads Ministry Announces Traffic Diversion on Obuasi Road for Footbridge Construction

There is an anticipated traffic interruption along the Obuasi Road, the Ministry of Roads and Highways, through the Department of Urban Roads, has announced.

This is to make way for safety improvements with the planned construction of pedestrian bridges at hazardous locations.

“The Ministry of Roads and Highways, through the Department of Urban Roads, wishes to inform the general public of temporary traffic arrangements to facilitate the launching of the bow of the pedestrian footbridge by the contractor, M/s Janson Bridging International BV, on the Obuasi Road (Opoku Ware SHS).”

The temporary arrangements will be in effect from November 1 to November 2 between 10:00 pm and 3:00 am.

It noted that diversions will be in place at the stipulated periods for crane positioning and bow bridge lifting.

“Motorists and road users are kindly requested to observe traffic management signs for guidance. The Police MTTD will be stationed at vantage points to assist and guide motorists.”

It further apologised for any inconvenience.
