I’ll Join You In The Mud To Deal with You; A-G Warns A-Plus

The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dominic Ayine, is unwilling to let the provocations of his colleague lawmaker, Kwame Asare Obeng, known as A-Plus, slide.

Alluding to his tribal background, he vowed to retaliate on every sling of mud thrown at him by the former artiste aimed at denigrating his hard-earned reputation.

“Let him be warned that in my hometown of Zuarungu, we do not fear mud being thrown at me. On the contrary, we go into the mud to deal with the person doing the mudslinging and I am prepared to walk into the mud with A-Plus,” he said at a presser on April 30, 2025.

This comes after A-Plus made a Facebook post calling the A-G “corrupt” and a “thief”.

In a later social media post, A-Plus alleged that Dr Ayine begged for GHC500 thousand to bribe the Appointment Committee of Parliament.

“And for your information, you are not the only one,” he wrote on Facebook after the A-G’s presser.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Justice has denied any wrongdoing, asserting that he had upheld integrity in his lifetime.

“As your Attorney General, I wish to assure you that I have sufficient reserves of integrity to continue to do the task assigned to me by HE the President of the Republic. I have never stolen before in my life and have never received a bribe in public office.”

He believes he wouldn’t have been appointed the A-G had he had a questionable personality.

He therefore dared his accuser to prove his allegations.

“If A-Plus has any evidence of corruption or thievery against me, I am challenging him today to hold a press conference and present it or present it to the police to investigate me.”

Dr Ayine said A-Plus was making the wild allegations out of fear after he was fingered in the National Service Scheme ghost names scandal.

“The media should ask him about the ‘silly’ thing that I was about to do which frightened him so much into making that silly post about me. He should be asked what he knows about the National Service ghost names scandal and related matters.”
