Trainee Allowances To Be Paid Via Controller and Accountant General- Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama says the government is reviewing the payment mode of teacher and nursing trainees’ allowances.
According to him, processes are underway for payments to be made directly through the Controller and Accountant General’s Department.
Speaking at his Thank You tour, he said this process accounted for the delay in the payment.
“What has delayed it is that the Minister is putting in a system so that you will be paid through the Controller and Accountant General so that every month when workers receive their salaries, trainees will also receive their allowances.”
Once this is done, he said trainees will receive their allowances promptly each month.
Meanwhile, he announced that once the payment process is completed, all arrears from January will be paid.
“Let me assure you that the Minister has made adequate provision in the budget for the payment of allowances and the allowances will be paid from January so you will get the arrears.”
