Helicopter Crash: Prez, Veep Meet Families Of Deceased Crew
President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang have met the families of the helicopter crew who died in a crash last week.
Joined by other government officials at the office of the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General William Agyapong, the meeting took place on August 12, 2025.
The leaders met with the families of Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Squadron Leader Peter Anala, Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, and Flying Officer Twum Ampadu at the Army Headquarters in Burma Camp.
In a Facebook post, the Veep said, “On behalf of the nation, we extended our deepest condolences to the families, and assured them of our support in this difficult time.”
They also signed the book of condolences in honour of the fallen compatriots.
A state funeral will be held on Friday at the Black Star Square to give them a fitting farewell.
