Afriyie Barnieh Joins Swiss second-tier Side FC Aarau

Former Hearts of Oak player, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, has signed a two-year contract with Swiss second-tier side FC Aarau.

It followed the termination of his contract with FC Zurich after two and a half years.

He has the option to extend his contract at FC Aurau when the contract expires.

Sporting director Elsad Zverotic believes Barnieh will enhance the team’s quality and experience.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old aims to revive his career after a challenging stint at Zurich, leveraging his international experience with the Ghanaian national team.

In an interview with the club media, the Ghanaian expressed his joy and eagerness to showcase his talent at his newly found home.

“I’m happy to be here. First-day training with the team and getting to know each other…I can’t wait to get started.”

The Ghanaian made 50 appearances at FC Zurich, scoring two goals.
